Oommen calls on Sonia

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy met with Congress president Sonia Gandhi today amidst a controversy over the demand for the resignation of Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty over a sex scandal. Though the stated purpose of his visit to the Capital was the preparation for the forthcoming visits of both Sonia and Singh to Kerala, sources said several issues 8212; the impending panchayat elections, organisational polls, a Rajya Sabha vacancy and the Kunhalikutty issue 8212; figured during his discussions with Sonia and Patel. The latter is in charge of party affairs in Kerala.
