One year RI for keeping a knife

CHANDIGARH, Jan 22: UT Judicial Magistrate first class Jasbir Singh today convicted a Sonepat resident, Mahavir Singh, under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year.

Mahavir was earlier arrested under the aforesaid sections on July 26, 1991, when a 12-inch long kamanidar knife was found in his possession without any valid licence to hold the same. The alleged accused had not been able to furnish an explanation for the same.
