Having smashed a century to bring Australia back into the third Test, vice-captain Michael Clarke said India were defensive in their approach as they sent Ishant Sharma as the night watchman today. 8220;Now we are in a good position. We8217;ve seen India sending out a night watchman today, which tells you that they have been pretty defensive in their approach,8221; Clarke said after the fourth and penultimate day8217;s play.
8220;It tells you that tomorrow, only one team will go for the win and that8217;s Australia. India will not set any targets tomorrow, they showed that by deciding to send a night watchman.
Asked if he was expecting a result, Clarke said: 8220;Certainly8221;.
8220;We8217;ll try to get a couple of early wickets tomorrow. We8217;ll be attacking tomorrow, will try to get some early wickets8230; so hope we can bowl them out,8221; he said.
Clarke said the pitch was turning now and it would not be easy to get runs. 8220;It wasn8217;t easy getting the first 10 runs. The pitch is turning quite a bit and it will turn even more tomorrow,8221; he said.
