PUNE, Sept 18: The interrogation of Irshadur Rehman, the 26-year-old youth arrested on charge of impersonating an Indian Army major working as aide de camp ADC to the President, has led to the arrest of a medical representative from Mumbai who posed as an ayurvedic doctor.

Investigations have shown that Irshadur Rehman was never admitted to the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune as he had claimed earlier.

Fazalur Abdul Hasanali Rehman, 28, was arrested yesterday after Irshadur Rehman admitted that he had provided a forged bachelor of ayurvedic medicine and surgery degree certificate to Fazalur.

Fazalur was produced before a judicial magistrate first class on Friday and remanded to police custody till October 2. The police said Fazalur, who hails from Bihar, is a bachelor of science. He started posing as a doctor about one and a half month back.

Irshadur had also forged the signatures of the vice-chancellor of the Bhagalpur University and the principal of the K N H Medical College, Bhagalpur on the degree certificate, the police added.
