PIPING-IN: Cadets at the Indian Military Academy celebrate the traditional Piping-In ceremony by throwing their hats in the air after the Passing Out Parade in Dehra Dun on Saturday. A total of 594 cadets became officers after completing their training at IMA.

8216;F-16 on checklist, but no say yet8217;: The Indian Air Force is evaluating the American F-16 along with others as it prepares to purchase 126 new fighter planes, Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi said at the IMA Passing Out Parade. He, however, said no final decision has been taken yet. The new fleet, he said, would include 18 Sukhoi supersonic jets, a contract for which would be signed shortly with Russia. These Sukhoi planes would replace 18 ageing aircraft, which would be sent back to Russia.
