A hearing into allegations that former Kenya cricket captain Maurice Odumbe had 8220;inappropriate contact with a known bookmaker8221; will start on July 27, his lawyer Ishan Kapila said on Wednesday.

Odumbe faced a preliminary hearing on Wednesday at a Nairobi hotel, presided over by former Zimbabwean Supreme Court judge Justice Ahmed Ebrahim.

The charge followed investigations by the ICC anti-corruption unit. Reuters
