Obama will be 8216;extraordinary president,8217; vows wife

The passionate speech was to be delivered before some 4,400 delegates at the opening night of the Democratic Party convention set to nominate Barack Obama, 47, as the country8217;s first black presidential nominee.

It raises the curtain on a carefully choreographed four-day jamboree seeking to propel the Illinois senator forward into the final stretch of the 2008 presidential campaign and the November 4 elections.

Her speech would give 8220;the country a personal view of Barack Obama, her husband, and Sasha and Malia8217;s dad. She will talk about their life together, and building a family grounded in faith and values,8221; the Obama campaign said in a statement.
