WELLINGTON, JAN 8: Persistent rain forced umpires to postpone the fourth limited-overs International between the West Indies and New Zealand today. New Zealand already has a 3-0 lead in the five-game series.

Skipper Stephen Fleming won the toss and sent the West Indies in but the game was suspended after just 10.5 overs, the West Indies on 43 for one. Rain continued to fall throughout the day and match officials decided to postpone the game until tomorrow morning.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul, promoted to open with Ridley Jacobs, played positively and hit three boundaries in his innings of 27 off 35 balls. But just as light rain started to fall, he mistimed a pull off Chris Cairns and was caught at wide mid-on by Roger Twose.
