Some fans of the Tamil filmstar Rajinikanth launched a political party here in a bid to pressurise him to enter politics.

Some fans of the Tamil filmstar Rajinikanth launched a political party here in a bid to pressurise him to enter politics.

“Though there is no official word from the headquarters of the fans association in Chennai, the name and flag would be the symbols of aspirations of thousands of fans. We will send requests to ‘Shivaji’ to authorise the symbols,” activists of the local fans association ‘Rajini Narpani Manram, who launched the party at a meeting here said on Monday night.

They released the flag and announced the party’s name as ‘Desiya Dravida Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (DDMMK).’
