The Congress leadership is having a tough time pandering to the whims and fancies of cinestar-cum-parliamentarian Govinda. His guest appearances in the Lok Sabha apart, the actor has started showing as much respect to Congress President Sonia Gandhi as he does to film directors. He didn8217;t turn up to vote in the vice-presidential polls. And though he took permission from the party to absent himself, many believe the reasons were not convincing enough. Earlier, at a dinner hosted by Sonia at Ashok hotel ahead of the presidential election, Govinda had reached the venue well after everybody had left. Then, at another dinner by Sonia at Maurya Sheraton hotel on the eve of the vice-presidential election, the star made a brief appearance and left the venue even as other guests were still trooping in.
