Whenever new Director General-rank posts get vacant at the Centre, there is a flurry of activity with senior IPS officers trying to beat each other to the post. However, this doesn8217;t seem to be the case with the proposed National Investigation Agency. The buzz in the government circles is that most senior officers are not too enthused by the possibility of taking over the proposed agency. The reason, officers say, could be because there is still no clarity with regard to powers of the agency while it is amply clear that there would a lot of expectations from it.
