The dispute over the applicability of a new fee structure for the pharmacy students, who have secured parallel admission in second year under the diploma to degree course (D to D), has finally come to an end. The Justice R J Shah Fee Regulatory Committee has directed all pharmacy colleges in the state not to implement the increased fee structure for the D to D students this year, as they constitute only 10 per cent of the total strength. The students had been protesting against the new fee structure on the ground that it was announced after they took admission. As per the proposed fee structure, the D to D students were supposed to pay an increased fee as they had not completed a year in college, while other second-year students had to follow the old fee structure.
