The CPIM has all along stressed the point that the Trinamool Congress-led Opposition took advantage of the situation through a misinformation campaign.
The NCM team comprising Hamid Ansari and Dilip Padgaonkar submitted the report to Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay. The team visited Nandigram on March 18 and 19 to probe whether there was a communal angle and whether the rights of minorities had been violated in the incidents that culminated in police firing on March 14. 8220;We were looking into whether there was any issue for which we hold the brief involved in the incident. And nothing of that sort was found,8221; Ansari said.
