NHAI down the same road

Minister T R Baalu8217;s drive to get NHAI Chairman N Gokulram replaced has suffered a small jolt. The three candidates in the fray whose names are being considered are reportedly not suitable enough to head the country8217;s highway development agency. While Baalu is putting his weight behind Tamil Nadu-cadre official Brijeshwar Singh, others are not quite convinced. UP-cadre official Prabhat Chaturvedi, who had earlier done a stint with NHAI, and Kiran Dhingra, who is in the Shipping Ministry, are also being considered. The matter will now be resolved after another high-level discussion among officials from the PMO and the Road Transport Ministry.
