
Campaign Against Atrocities on Minorities in Bangladesh CAAMB, a non-governmental organisation, held a conference demanding the return of controversial author Taslima Nasreen to Kolkata. It also demanded Taslima be allowed to settle permanently in West Bengal.
The programme held at the conference hall of the Academy of Fine Arts on Wednesday, was kicked off by lightning a candle in front of Taslima8217;s photograph.
A book called Lajjar Ek Bachor, comprising poetry written by many renowned poets on Taslima was released by the chief guest Amlan Dutta. Poet Sarat Mukherjee, Kalikrishna Guha, Pallab Kirtaniya were among others present at the meet.
General Secretary of CAAMB, Mohit Roy, said: 8220;We uphold the freedom of expression and secular ideas.8221;
