NEW DELHI, OCT 19: Though Bhartiya Janata Party president Bangaru Laxman today appointed new chiefs to party’s various frontal organisations and cells, there still do not apear signs of work allocation to 20-odd national office bearers of the party.

Five of the six chiefs of BJP’s morchas are new faces with only Ram Nath Govind, a Rajya Sabha MP from UP, being retained as head of the Scheduled Caste morcha. Most of the convenors of various cells, however, have been repeated. Lok Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who had contested for the state presidentship against the resent incumbent Vikram Varma, has been appointed head of the youth wing — Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha.

Heads of other frontal organisations are Baliram Kashyap (Scheduled Tribe), Surama Padhi (Mahila Morcha), M.S. Usmani (Minority Morcha) and Mahadev Shivankar (Kisan). Party vice president Jana Krishnamurthi and general secretary Narendra Modi have been appointed spokespersons.

Meanwhile, Jagdish Shettigar has been re-appointed the convenor of Economic Cell but his powers seems to have been curtailed with the appointment of Ramkrishna as co-convenor. Former diplomat N.N. Jha has been appointed convenor of the External Affairs cell.

Former MP Bhagwan Shankar Rawat heads the Grievances Cell while Brigadier (Retd) B.D. Mishra will head the Defence cell and Group Capt (retd) Vijay Veer has been made the convenor of the ex-Servicemen’s Cell with Brigadier (retd) R.B. Sharma as the co-convenor.
