PUNE, Sept 29: Hosts National Defence Academy NDA got of to a winning note on the opening day of the annual Hexagonal sports meet defeating Naval Academy, Goa 25-12, 25-15 in the volleyball league match here today.

Cadet V S Rai and Cadet S K Pandey anchored NDA8217;s win with their perfect play.

In another match, Indian Military Academy downed INS Shivaji in straight sets of 25-20, 25-12. For the winners, Cadet Murthy and Cadet Chinnappan were the star players.

In all five teams from various defence training institutions in the country namely, Indian Military Academy Dehradun, INS Shivaji Lonavala, Air Force Academy Hyderabad, Naval Academy Goa and hosts NDA are participating in annual sports meet.
