Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday urged the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance NDA to sever its ties with the Shiv Sena, which, he said, had confessed to its involvement in the violence against north Indians during the Railways exams in Mumbai recently.
Quoting from an editorial published in Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna, Lalu said it was shameful that the party was trying to glorify itself with such acts of violence.
8220;The NDA should immediately dissociate itself from the Shiv Sena,8221; Lalu said in the Rajya Sabha while replying to a discussion on supplementary grants for his ministry.
Referring to the attacks on trains in Bihar, he said, 8220;Railway property has become a soft target. Whether it is the Gurjjars or the Dera Sacha Sauda, it is the Railways which has to bear the brunt of all agitations,8221; he said.
8220;Little do these people realise that they are destroying their own property. Every party should unite to denounce such violence and attacks on railway property,8221; he said.
