NCC week ends with ‘run for fun’

“Run for fun” was organised on Sunday to mark the conclusion of the NCC week celebrations at GADVASU and PAU.

About 500 NCC cadets from all the units of the city group participated in the run. Group commander Col K.J. Singh flagged off the run while Col Deol, Col R.P. Singh, Col Ranbir Singh and wing commander Bishnoi were also present along with the ANOs and the parents of the cadets.

During the week-long event, students participated in essay-writing and declamation contests, mushiara and visits to old-age home and orphanage. A cycle rally was also organised at Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, which was flagged off by Deputy General, Brig Rajinder Singh.

Deputy General Brig Rajinder Singh also met Dr V.K. Taneja, V-C, GADVASU, and thanked him for all the help extended to NCC activities by the university academic fraternity. He said it would go a long way in shaping the youth power in national building.

In the concluding session, Col Ranbir Singh, commanding officer, 1 Pb R&V Sqn, GADVASU, urged the cadets to take part in the physical and co-curricular activities along with studies.
