National AIDS plan in third phase

After successful completion of the phase I and II campaigns, the National AIDS Control Programme NACP has entered its third phase with a three-pronged strategy, Union Minister of state for Health and Family Welfare, Panabaka Lakshmi said on Monday.

NACP III is envisaged to strengthen links between general health programmes and prevention of HIV/AIDS. It will reach upto village levels with three aims8212; care and support, treatment and prevention 8212;Lakshmi said while inaugurating a five-day conference on 8216;Actions to strengthen linkages between sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS8217;.
