Musicians to perform tonight

VADODARA, Oct 17: Distinguished musicians, the Gaekwad brothers, will perform at a function in Subhanpura Guest House on Monday night. The function is part of the ongoing eight-day Durga Puja festival organised by members of the East West Cultural Association since Friday.

A press note said here on Sunday that special functions would also be held on Tuesday Vijaya Dashami, October 24 Laxmi Puja, November 7 Maha Kali Puja and November 8 Pratima Niramjan. Recipients of several awards, the Gaekwad brothers would render 8220;Shehnai-Jal Tarang jugalbandi8221; in which Dattatraya Gaekwad would play Jal Tarang, Mukund and Sunil play Shehnai and Sudhir would accompany them on Tabla, an association release said. The two-hour classical music programme will begin a 9.30 pm, the release added.
