Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega
One can almost play a guessing game with the lyrics of the title track of HDJPK. Sameer unnecessarily raises hope for crappy poets like myself with his words. I mean 8212; haasna hoga, rona hoga; khona hoga, paana hoga! What is this, yaar? This is as bad as my own stuff! Check this out: quot; You are my tea, I am your coffee; You are my chocolate, I am your toffee.quot; Good, huh? But nonetheless, a very nice track sung aptly by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.

Ek garam chai ki pyali is a mixture of Queen with Cliff Richard8217;s Shakin8217;, of course, all well shaken with Malik8217;s own stuff. And it sounds as good as a misal pao lunch. In all fairness, this is the tune which keeps playing in your mind long after you have heard the album. There is a sad version of the title track by Alka Yagnik in which she sounds as smooth as a knife cutting through butter, after which we skip to my personal favourite, Piya piya o piya by Prashant, Preeti and Pinky.

The 3P team churns out a great number. Prashant whoever he is! in particular, has a good voice, and Mr Malik should make more use of him.

The last solo track by Nigam sounding like one from his own private collection wraps up the album nicely. This could be another O o jaane jaana for Salman Khan when HDJPK is released.

All in all, a good album, HDJPK does, however, leave one slightly disappointed because it is a Raj Kanwar movie 8212; and going by that, this is average fare compared to the music of Raj Kanwar8217;s past movies.

Music: Anu Malik. Lyrics: Sameer. Tapes/CDs: T-Series

8212; Sujoy Ghosh
