
Muttiah Muralitharan clai-med his 58th five-wicket haul as Sri Lanka overpowered Bangladesh on the opening day of the first Test today.
The off-spinner grabbed five wickets for 15 runs as Bangladesh were shot out for their third lowest total of 89.
Sri Lanka were 227-3 at stumps in reply. Jayawardene hit 93 before he retiring hurt while opener Michael Vandort,was unbeaten on 87.
