Constable ends life
A 31-year-old constable, attached to Special L Division, Worli, committed suicide on Sunday night. His suicide is suspected to be the fallout of a domestic quarrel. According to the police, Yuvraj Gaikwad, a resident of Ambarnath, was found hanging with a sari round his neck. There was no suicide note, but he is said to have had a quarrel with his wife. His body was discovered on Monday morning.

Five robbers held
The city police on Monday arrested five persons in connection with an attempted dacoity case.

Acting on a tip-off that some persons would be meeting at 12 noon near Parel fly-over, opposite Kirti Mahal hotel, to attempt a dacoity, Bhoiwada Police officials covered the spot.

At around 12.45 p.m., five men arrived in a taxi, a police press note stated. The officials overheard the group’s plan to rob Navrang jewellery shop and quickly arrested the thieves. All the robbers were in their twentiesThey were later identified as Amarsingh Rajput (23), Deepak Sridhar Gaikwad (20), Pankaj Patel (27), Narayan alias Dinesh Marji (20) and Vimal Vishwas (20).

One country-made revolver, two live catridges and four choppers were recovered from them.
