Trade fair

A national trade fair on gifts and stationary will be held at the Nehru Centre from August 1-5, 1997. Titled `Gifts ’97’, nearly 250 leading companies are expected to participate in it.

An appeal

Four-year-old Rajeev Shreshtha suffers from bone cancer and is presently undergoing treatment at the Tata Memorial Hospital. The total treatment is expected to cost Rs 1.5 lakh. His mother Maneka Shreshtha, an office assistant in a school, cannot bear the expenses alone and hence appeals for help through donations from the public. Additional water

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will provide additional 360 million litres of water to the city from July 1997. Out of this 190 million will be supplied to the western suburbs, 100 million for the area from Goregaon to Dahisar and 90 million to the area from Bandra to Jogeswari.

Dak Adalat

The department of posts will be holding the 19th Dak Adalat and 4th Pension Adalat at Mumbai on 8.8.97 at 11 am and 2 pm respectively in the office of the Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Mumbai. Complaints regarding postal services and pension which are not settled within six weeks will be entertained at the adalats. Interested parties may send their complaints to K K Sharma, Secretary, Dak Adalat, GPO Annex Bldg, 5th floor, Mumbai and regarding pension to P R Meshram, Accounts Officer at the same address before 5.7.97.

Goodwill visit

The ambassador of Argentina, Ms Elda B Sampietro called on the Maharashtra governor Dr P C Alexander on Thursday. She was accompanied by captain Edgordo Campianti, Commander of Argentinian navy’s training ship frigate ARA `Libertao’.
