
Sanskrit day celebrations
The Sanskrit Varsha Samaroha Samiti and the department of Sanskrit, University of Mumbai will jointly organise a Sanskrit day celebration on Saturday, August 28 at 4 pm at the Marathi Bhasha and Sahitya Bhavan, Vidyanagri, Santacruz E. This follows the Human Resources Development Ministry declaring the year 1999-2000 as Sanskrit Year.
Dr Kamal Abhyankar, ex-head department of Sanskrit, SNDT University will be the chief guest. The students of the department of Sanskrit and various colleges in Mumbai will present various cultural programmes on this day.
Inter-collegiate seminar
The Commerce and Accountancy Association of Tolani College of Commerce will host a one day inter collegiate seminar on Management 8211; The Road Ahead8217; on September 4. Management experts will speak on the prospects of management studies and careers. Interested students and those of the first batches of BMS can participate in the event. Savera school for special children
The Maharashtra State Women8217;s Council8217;s Savera School for Children in need of special Care will now be known as Gulestan and Rustom Billimoria Savera School for Children in Need of Special Care8217;. This school is situated at 10, Raveline Street, opposite New Excelsior Theatre. The school runs a guidance clinic which treats children with behavioural problems. Vocational training classes on weaving, craft, cooking and music are also run. Counselling to parents is also given by a psychologist. Call on 2662013 for details.
