Scholarship examination

The High School and Middle School Scholarship Examination will be held on February 20 next year by the Maharashtra State Bureau of Examination, Pune in all the districts of Maharashtra. Headmasters are requested to collect application forms from the concerned Block Education Officer; for Mumbai, from the Educational Inspector between August 25 and 27. The last date for submission of application forms is September 20.

Talent search among schools

The National Talent Search Examination will be held on November 28 by the Maharashtra State Bureau of Examinations, Pune in all the districts of the state. Students studying in Xth std in recognised secondary schools, navodaya vidyalayas and central schools are eligible to take this exam. Application forms and other details can be obtained from the concerned Education Officer Secondary Zilla Parishad and the Educational Inspector, Mumbai for Rs 2. The last date for submitting forms is August 3.

Course at SchnellHans

Schnell Hans International will conduct a three-month course from July 20 at their Colaba and Mahim centres for those interested in appearing for the City and Guilds exam in December. The course is exclusively for women, and the minimum eligibility requirement is HSC with one year work experience. The certification is valid in 85 countries. International tourism course

IHCTM Institute of Hotel, Cargo and Tourism Management will conduct special batches at its Colaba and CST centres from July 23 to qualify and prepare students for the International Tourism examination to be held in December. The examination comprises seven papers including one practical assessment. The City and Guilds UK qualifications are valid in 85 countries. City student for olympiad

Sandeep Bala of KCCollege, Churchgate has been chosen for the International Physics Olympiad 8217;99, which will be held from July 17 to 27. The other representatives are: Amsit Agarwal, Mayank Rawat DAV College, Chandigarh, Harsha Madhysta National Public School, Bangalore and Suvrat Raju from Delhi. This is the second time that India is participating in the olympiad. Last year, India ranked tenth among 56 countries.

Public speaking for children

Cassette on shlokas released

Upanishad Amrut, the first music album of its kind containing Sanskrit shlokas from 10 of the Upanishads recited by Shankar Mahadevan and Devaki Pandit with music by santoor maestro Pandit Shivkumar Sharma was released on Saturday. A jointeffort by Sony Music and Navras, it is to followed by similar experiments with Indian classics like Ramayana.
