Thane Cong corporators to meet party chief
Senior Congress leader and Deputy Chairman of the state legislative council Vasant Davkahre today said that he would arrange a meeting between the pradesh Congress chief Prataprao Bhosale and Congress corporators in Thane Municipal Corporation TMC to sort out the feud between them and commissioner T Chandrashekhar. Davkhare said that the corporators had defied the party directives and voted in favour of the resolution to oust Chandrashekhar, which had spoilt the party8217;s image.
Reiterating his full support to the commissioner who has done commendable work for the city, he called for a better understanding with the TMC chief blamed the Congress corporators for taking hasty decisions of voting for the resolution to oust Chandrashekhar when too many projects in the city remain incomplete.
Restrictions on traffic
The traffic police have advised citizens to avoid the following roads in view of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad8217;sShobha Yatra being organised today between 3 pm and 5.30 pm from the Somaiyya Medical College and hospital at Sion to the Dadar Shivaji Park: Vasantrao Naik Mahamarg from Priyadarshini Circle up to Sion junction; Dr Ambedkar Marg from Maheshwari Udyan to Khodadad Circle; Khodadad circle, Tilak bridge; NC Kelkar Marg between Kotwal Garden and Gadkari Chowk.
Adoption meet at Sophia8217;s
The NSS unit of Sophia College, Peddar Road, under the aegis of University of Mumbai, has organised an adoption awareness programme in collaboration with Bal Asha Trust. The programme will be held from December 29 to 31 at Churchgate.
Expedition to Vaishnodevi

On the last day of the scheme 8211; Thursday, December 31 8211; this section will remain open for 24 hours.
Photography workshop
The 16th Annual All-India Workshop and Conference on Photography is being held in Mumbai between December 26 and 30.
