Vice Admiral awarded PVSM
Vice Admiral Sushil Kumar, vice-chief of the Naval staff has been awarded the Param Vishist Seva Medal on the ocassion of Republic Day. He has earlier been awarded the Uttam Yuddh Seva Mandal, Ati Vishisht Seva Mandal and Nao Sena Medal Gallantry. He has been Director of Naval Operations, Flag Officer Commanding, Maharashtra Naval Area, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff, Fortress Commander Andaman and Nicobar and Chief of Personnel.

On the occasion of Republic Day, the President of India has awarded a Certificate of Appreciation8217; for Specially Distinguished Record of Service8217; to officers of the Customs and Central Excise Department, Narcotics Control Bureau NCB and the Enforcement Directorate ED. The SNDT8217;s Womens8217; University is organising a musical programme at Birla Matoshri Sabhaghar, Bombay Hospital, New Marine Lines on January 27, at 6.30 pm. Music director Kalyanji8217;s troupe Little Wonders8217; will perform on the occasion.

Jan 26 parade
A republic Day ceremonial parade by the security and vigilance department of the Bombay Electric Supply and Transport will be held on January 26 at its Backbay Bus Depot. BEST general manager will inspect the guard of honour and give away awards to security personnel for their meritorious performances.
