Wall collapses at Chirabazaar

A part of a wall collapsed in a two-storeyed structure at Chirabazaar this morning. The fire brigade received the call that the wall of building no 517, on the Shankersheth Road came at 10.35 am. There were no casualties. Fire brigade personnel pulled down the other part which was precariously tilted and could have led to a further collapse.

BMC appeal on dumping flowers

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has appealed to citizens and members of all Ganeshotsav mandals not to throw away flowers and other pooja materials in the sea or in the lakes. Huge pots have been kept near seashore and lakes. Special tempos have been deployed to carry away the flowers, to be used to produce fertilisers.

SBI to offer water to devotees

State Bank of India will provide cold drinking water at Opera House the junction on Saturday to devotees participating in processions carrying Ganesh idols to nearby sea . The water hut will also offer guidance with a publicaddress system on the route and traffic position to PA system passing along the road.

Exhibition on printing

An exhibition-cum-seminar on the printing and processing industry , ancillary and allied products is being hosted at Nehru Centre from September 4 to 6.
