8 injured in collapse
Eight people were injured when a two-storeyed structure collapsed today at 5 pm at Chirag Nagar behind Ghatkopar police station. The recently built structure houses a public toilet facility, said the Ghatkopar police. The injured were admitted to Rajawadi Municipal Hospital. The fire brigade rushed eight fire engines and four ambulances to the site.

Environment mgmt course
The South Indian Education Society will start a two-year PG diploma course in Environmental Management in association with the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute from this academic year. The course, which combines business studies with environmental science and information technology, will be conducted at the society8217;s college of management studies at Nerul.

Rs 2.12 crore charas haul
The Economic Offences Wing seized 848 kg of charas worth Rs 2.12 crore in the local market from a godown near P D8217;Mello Road early this week. Following a tip-off, EOW and NarcoticsControl Bureau officials raided the premises of an export company and seized the contraband valued at Rs 17 crore in the international market which had arrived from Jaipur and was en route to South Africa.
