Reputed sculptor passes away

Harish B Talim, reputed sculptor, died on October 8 of a heart attack. He is survived by his wife and three children. Talim, son of reputed sculptor Professor B V Talim, has created several bronze statues in the city and in other parts of India, including the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Mantralaya, the Hutatma Chowk memorial and the statue of Jawaharlal Nehru at Ambernath. Talim also created statutes of Shivaji at Uran and Jalna and the Sardar Vallabhai Patel memorial at BITS Pilani. He was president of the Arts Society and the Indian Sculptors Association.

Course in leprosy treatment

The Association for Leprosy Education, Rehabilitation and Treatment 8211; India ALERT-India will conduct a one-week para-professional course in leprosy treatment beginning from October 11 to coincide with the organisations 21st founder8217;s day.

The course will be conducted in two batches of 15 candidates each. Further details can be had from their office in the CIDCO Community Centre, Sector-3, Vashi.
