Diamonds robbed
Diamonds and gold worth Rs 76 lakh were robbed from a jewellery manufacturing unit at Goregaon on Sunday. According to police, when the manager of Cama Jewellers, situated on the Sonawala Road opened the shop last evening he found diamonds and gold worth Rs 76,28,034 missing.
According to the complainant, he had locked the industry-cum-shop on Saturday at about 6.30 pm. However, on Sunday the diamonds, mostly of 14 carats and gold was missing. The Goregaon police had registered a case of robbery and further investigations are on, police said.
Asha Gawli8217;s bail rejected
Additional metropolitan magistrate Holambe Patil on Monday rejected the bail application of Asha Gawli wife of underworld don turned-politician Arun Gawli and remanded her to police custody till March 20. Patil, while rejecting the application, said that he was satisfied with the evidence gathered by the prosecution. Gawli was arrested on March six by the Malbar Hill police in connection with the murderof city builder Manish Shah on February five, this year. She was remanded to police custody for two days by the holiday metropolitan magistrate, Girgaon.
