Bomb hoax at Mazgaon court

MUMBAI, February 26: A bomb threat at Mazagaon Metropolitan Court today turned out to be a hoax after a three-hour drama. Additional metropolitan magistrate Gate8217;s office staff received a call at about 11:00 am by an anonymous caller that a bomb had been placed in the court building. Soon the police was informed and a dog squad pressed into action. The area was cordoned off. Sniffer dogs went around every nook and corner of the court premises, and after three hours the threat proved to be a hoax.

Coldest day of the month

On account of strong cold winds blowing from the northern parts of India, Mumbai recorded Thursday as the coldest day of the month. After recording a rise in temperature in the city since early this week, the mercury suddenly dipped on Wednesday night and continued to maintain a low profile today, forcing Mumbaiites to either remain indoors or don their woolens. An official from the Colaba Weather Bureau said, 8220;The minimum temperatures recordedon Thursday in the Colaba and Santacruz observatories were 16.3 and 13.2 degrees Celsius, thereby making it the coldest day of February this year.8221;
