
Mumbai to get Rs 100 cr from Centre
The Centre has agreed to grant a special aid of Rs 100 crore to Mumbai to solve its various problems in coming financial year. A press release from Mantralaya said Chief Minister Narayan Rane called on Vice Chairperson of Planning Commission K C Pant on Wednesday to press the demand. Rane argued that Mumbai generates maximum revenue for the Union Government but does not get adequate financial assistance. The CM also said that various basic services in Mumbai were overburdened and were in need of money for better performance. The statement said that Pant acceded to Rane8217;s demand and assured the financial aid.
RTO drive to check pvt vehicles
All Regional Transport Offices in Greater Mumbai will launch a special private vehicle checking drive from Friday. Vehicle owners are required to pay one time tax and carry relevant documents to avoid seizure of their vehicle. During the drive documents including taxation book, insurance certificate, driving licenceand PUC certificates will be checked.
