Hoteliers call off strike

THE statewide strike of hotels, restaurants and permit rooms called for by the Federation of Hotels and Restaurant Association on September 12 has been called off.

The decision was taken after a delegation of the federation led by its chairman M D Shetty met the Finance Minister Mahadeo Shivankar at the Mantralaya on Wednesday. The finance minister agreed to consider their grievances related to an increase in sales tax.
