NEW DELHI, February 9: The motive behind the suicide of a young couple in Kalkaji on Sunday morning is not yet clear. The bodies of the couple were found hanging from a tree in a wooded area near the Kalkaji bus depot by a passerby on Sunday morning. Sindhumol had hanged herself with her saree while Saji had used a shawl.

The couple — Sindhumol (24) and Saji Kumar (25) hailed from Kerala. While Sindhumol was from Kottayam, Saji was a native of Allepey.

Sindhu was reportedly employed in a chemists shop in Kalkaji called Jolly Enterprises while Saji was working in a private garment export firm in Nehru Place. Sindhu was staying with a roommate in Govindpuri and Saji had also rented a house in the same area.

According to the police, the two had reportedly been lovers. Till about four months ago, Saji lived in a rented room in the same house where Sindhumol was staying. However, after that he moved out to another house in the same area. According to the police, the couple must have met each other afterwork on Saturday and reportedly did not return. Subsequently, their bodies were found hanging from a tree on Sunday morning by a passerby.
