
NEW DELHI, January 20: Even as officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI kept silent on the place where the Indian cricket team would arrive after completing its engagements in New Zealand, there was hub of activities inside the Ferozeshah Kotla grounds where the second Test between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held from February 4.
All the top DDCA officials, including its president Ram Babu Gupta and sports secretary Sunil Dev were seen giving directions to people on the matter of security. An eleborate meeting of the association8217;s security committee was held in the evening to take stock of day-to-day developments. Similar meetings of other committees, appointed in connection with the Test match at the Kotla, will be held in the next few days.
Photo identity cards of all club members and staffers of the DDCA were being prepared; a list of officials to assist umpires, scorers and mediapersons were discussed.
With every passing hour, there is a sense of optimism among the people in the Kotla about the tour coming off and the Test match being held as scheduled. Everyone is now talking about the match and the prospects of the two teams and the outcome of the game.
