NEW DELHI, August 24: Former league champions Moonlight earned their first victory when they downed Collegians 2-0 in a group-II Super League match of DSA-SAIL Senior Division Football League Championship being held at the floodlit Ambedkar Stadium here today. The winnes led 1-0 at the half-time.

Moonlight, consisting of young and experience players, dominated the proceedings against their walled-city rivals and exerted pressure thorugh their medios Yujuvender Raat, Pankaj Negi and Ramesh Yadav. In the 16th minute of the proceedings, mid-fielder Yajuvender Rawat sent a through pass which was nicely captured by defender Mohd. Kamil who centred it and striker Damkhai Pamei nicelly headed home from inside the box. On changing ends, Moonlight consolidated the lead in the 52nd minute, following a move initiated from mid-field by Yajuvender Rawat striker Mohd. Atiq tapped in nicely.

Moonlight have collected four points from three matches while Collegians have only two points from three matches.
