Prince Albert of Monaco, 48, linked in the popular press with a succession of girlfriends, has admitted fathering a second child born out of wedlock, the 14-year-old daughter of a Californian former waitress, his lawyer said in an interview published today.
‘‘At first he decided to keep his paternity secret until Jazmin Grace reached adulthood. But during the past several weeks the paparazzi began to swarm around her in Palm Springs (California) and the situation became untenable for her,’’ Thierry Lacoste said.
Jazmin was conceived during a brief liaison in 1991, and last year—shortly after inheriting the tiny Mediterranean principality after the death of his father Rainier—Albert also confirmed he was the father of a boy, Alexandre, born in August 2003 to a Togolose airhostess.
