It is Mohali8217;s BPO test. After several firsts to its credit, the Punjab Cricket Association PCA has decided to outsource all management aspects of hosting the Test between India and Pakistan in March.

After opting to engage a property management firm to build the stadium in the early 90s and later outsourcing other maintenance aspects at the venue, PCA has decided to follow the same policy for the forthcoming Test. According to the PCA president Inderjit Singh Bindra everything from ticketing, catering to even the courtesy cars for players and officials will be managed by private agencies. 8216;8216;Except policing outside the stadium, which is a state responsibility, we have outsourced everything,8217;8217; he said. A committee of seven honorary PCA members will oversee the working of these agencies.

Not taking any chances, Bindra added that PCA will also be working together with the state government in organising the Test. And with Chief Minister Amarinder Singh heading the organising committee this time, the PCA plan seems perfect as for now.

PCA8217;s red carpet for visitors

With Mohali likely to host the first Test from March 4 to 8, PCA is doing its bit to roll out the red carpet for not just the visiting players but also the fans. There are about 7,500 tickets earmarked for the spectators from across the border. 8216;8216;The Pakistan Cricket Board PCB had requested tickets for 10,000 people but since we had to adjust local we could manage just 7,500,8217;8217; said Bindra. These tickets will be sold at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Transport till the Mohali stadium for those arriving from the Wagah Border will also be provided.
