NEW DELHI, August 1: Moghals registered their first victory in the DSA-SAIL Senior Division League match when they beat former champions Shimla Youngs 1-0 at the Ambedkar Stadium here today. In another facile encounter at the same venue, Goan Sports defeated Youngsters FC to earn full points.

Moghals, who have played seven matches including the one today, enhanced their position in the points tally to seven, with the first full points coming today.

The game never rose to any dizzy heights in spite of Moghals having an upper hand right through the first session. Several missed opportunities in the session only increased the anxiety in both camps even as Shimla Youngs tried their best to arrest their rivals advancement.

Moghals, however, had the last laugh when Rajesh Arya netted in in the 53rd minute and happily clung on to the lead until the end.

The Goans played a better soccer but the goal was always eluding them in the first session. The barran first half must have infused some fresh blood into their rhythm when they went all out in the second half to score the all-important goal through Mohammad Imtiaz in the 55th minute. The Goans have eight points in as many matches while Youngesters have nine from nine games.
