The dice was heavily loaded against Lalit Modi as the cricket board8217;s BCCI working committee has more or less decided to issue a show cause notice to the Rajasthan Cricket Association chief. The show cause notice, likely to be issued tomorrow on the concluding day of the two-day meeting here, would ask modi to explain as to why action should not be taken against him for suppressing facts regarding his past which allegedly made him unqualified to hold any office.
BCCI vice-president Kamal Morarka had alleged that Modi was convicted in the USA in 1985 on charges of drug trafficking and therefore should be removed from the board. Morarka had raised the issue at the meeting here today, and president Ranbir Singh Mahendra had been authorised to make a decision on the same.
