Police officers investigating the September-29 Modasa blast in Sabarkantha district, have received information that the bike on which the bomb was planted, was parked in the Suka Bazaar area between 8.30 pm and 9.10 pm.

They, however, said the information may not lead to a breakthrough, as the information is based on eye-witness accounts.

The blast that rocked the heart of the Muslim-dominated area of the town, had killed one person and injured around 10 others, just a few days before the festivals of Navratri and Eid.

A senior district police officer said: 8220;Earlier, no one was ready to come out and speak to the police about who had parked the bike, or at what time it was parked. But now, people have given their account of the timeframe during which the bike was spotted at the place.8221;

As per their account, it seems that the bike was parked between 8.30 pm and 9.10 pm, he added.

Attempts are now being made to find out those who may have seen the person who parked the bike, he said, adding, 8220;Based on that information, we can make his sketch and reach the person who planted the bomb.8221;

District Superintendent of Police R B Brahmbhatt, however, said: 8220;This is an outcome based on the eyewitness accounts of people present in the Suka Bazaar area. But, nothing concrete has come out so far. We are also waiting for the FSL reports to establish the identity of the stolen bike was used in the blast.8221;

The Improvised Explosive Device used in the blast was installed in one of the glove compartments of the bike.
