Missing NRI: Assam CM promises CBI inquiry

Assam government has promised a CBI inquiry into the disappearance of the UK-based NRI businessman Protul Deb from the state seven months ago.

The missing NRI8217;s daughter, Sipra Deb, said: 8220;The Chief Minister has promised a CBI inquiry into the disappearance of my father and also assured all help in tracking him.8221; Deb had met Assam CM Tarun Gogoi last evening.

Sipra alleged that a minister in the Assam Cabinet and his son were involved in the disappearance of her father.

8220;I hope the CM8217;s assurance of a CBI inquiry would not be caught up in bureaucratic wrangles,8221; she said.
