Missing after the serial blasts on Saturday, one man returned home and a missing report was registered at the Karol Bagh PS in another case. Major hospitals in Delhi now say the unclaimed and unidentified bodies of Saturday8217;s blasts have been claimed by relatives. Yet, there are a few unfortunate ones who have still not been able to trace family members.
Hemlata 25, a resident of Okhla, says her husband Dilip 25 had gone to Gaffar Market at 12 pm on Saturday, but never returned. 8220;I have checked all major hospitals, but he is untraceable,8221; says an inconsolable Hemlata.
Dilip sells watches in Okhla, and had gone to Gaffar Market to buy his stock. Hemlata has been doing the rounds of police stations to file her complaint.
Another victim is Manir Alam, who came looking for his 19-year-old nephew Farooq. Farooq worked as a motor mechanic at Gaffar Market till a month ago. On Saturday he had gone shopping to Gaffar, after which he went untraceable.
8220;I have left a message for his family in Bihar. Since they live in a village, Farooq8217;s family will get the news only tomorrow,8221; says Alam.
For some, it was relief after endless anxiety. After scanning dead bodies at all hospital mortuaries, 28-year-old Rani, was finally reunited with her missing husband, Mukesh Kumar.
Mukesh, 37, who sells painkiller ointments in buses for a living, had told his wife he would be visiting Gaffar Market to buy a birthday present for their 10-year-old daughter Bharti. Fortunately, Mukesh did not.
Mukesh8217;s phone had stopped working and he had fainted on the bus. 8220;The bus dropped him at Nangloi and he was so sick that he couldn8217;t even get up,8221; Rani said.
Mukesh has already said sorry to his wife a hundred times over for what she has been through.
