JAIPUR, MARCH 10: Miscreants shot dead constable Ramsharan and freed the main accused in a dacoity case while he was being taken to court in Sikar district in Rajasthan on Friday.

State Director General of Police (DGP-Jail) S P Shrivastava said here two constables were escorting the accused Beerbal Meena from Neemkathana jail to the court, when the miscreants came and shot at one of the constables, seriously injuring him, and freed the accused before fleeing.

The injured constable died while he was being taken to Jaipur for treatment, Shrivastava added.

Jaipur jail superintendent J K Sharma and Sikar jail deputy superintendent were sent to the spot for investigations, the DGP said.
