One of Osho Commune International8217;s top management has expressed agony over the attacks on a Norwegian tourist in Koregaon Park, by knife-wielding youths.
Surprisingly, he has not expressed pain at numerous such attacks, sometimes fatal, on our very own Hindustanis.
Are Indians lives so cheap and insignificant for our Osho leader? Personally,I have no sympathy for these foreigners, who are an utter nuisance in Koregaon Park.
It is bad enough for them to treat us as second-class citizens in their countries, but, it is even worse when they treat us this way in our own country. One has to just walk into places like the German Bakery and many such eateries in Koregaon Park, and see the treatment given to the desi8217; crowd versus the firang8217; crowd. The autorickshaw drivers also look through Indians on the road, in their search for firangi8217; passengers. The foreigners8217; attitude towards locals condescending. They also have no qualms about hurting our sensibilities by their cheap, open display of affection. Our city would be a much better place without these self-proclaimed superior beings. This is one issue where I fully support the Patit Pawan Sanghatana8217;s actions. We certainly want foreigners in our city to feel safe, but they need to be people who deserve our support and respect us for what we are.
