JK Police claimed to have arrested the militants behind the killings of several officials of CRPF, BSF and the police. Seven security force personnel were shot dead by the militants at point blank range in the past few weeks.
JK DGP Gopal Sharma said, 8216;8216;On investigation, the police found the involvement of the al-Badr militant outfit in these killings8230;An al-Badr module was responsible for four killings and the persons responsible for the killings have been arrested.8221;
Sharma identified the militants as Bashir Ahmad Teli, Showket Ahmad Teli and Feroz Ahmad Najar. Giving details,Sharma said that the group carried out the killings of a SI, a havaldar and two constables. 8216;8216;The arrested persons have also revealed the names of their other associates. We have already picked up five and others will soon be arrested,8217;8217; he said.
He added that further investigation led the police to another al-Badr militant Showket Ahmad from whom the police recovered a pistol, two magazines and four rounds.
