LONDON, JULY 14: International Computers Ltd ICL and American computer giant Miscrosoft alliance today announced setting up of a Microsoft Solution Centre in Pune, as part of 12 such centres to be opened worldwide.

The announcement was made as part of more than billion pound sterling expansion plan of the London-based ICL and Microsoft Global Alliance, by Keith Todd, chief executive of ICL. 8220;The Pune center will be a showcase for Microsoft technology-based software solutions specialising in development of electronic business e-com solutions and web-enabling of mission critical applications,8221; the ICL executive said.

The ICL-Microsoft combine would be spending about a million US dollar for the solutions showcase which would bring under one roof 300 software engineers certified by Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer System MCSE.

8220;The Pune software solution centre would be the first of its kind in the world to process at CMM level-5 and each year upto 300 more software engineers would be broughtupto the MSCE level,8221; Vivek Gupta, head of European operation of the ICL told PTI.

Vivek Gupta said last year, the ICL-Microsoft global alliance had set up seven such centres spread across the United Kingdom, United States, Sweden and Poland. quot;This year they had decided to set up five more Microsoft global centres in Pune, Finland, Botswana, South Africa and France,8221; he said.
